Lil' Romeo

The US rapper Lil' Romeo was born Percy Miller in New Orleans in 1989 and grew up in an extended family of successful hip-hop performers. His father is Percy Miller Sr. - better known as the rapper Master P - and his sister is the singer Cymphonique Miller. Rappers C-Murder and Sikk the Shocker are his uncles and the producer and singer MO B. Dick is his cousin. His father owns the record label No Limits and he signed Miller Jr. to one of his subsidiary labels when his son was just five years old. At the age of 12 he released his self-titled debut album and it produced the hit single 'My Baby' which topped the R&B/Hip-Hop charts in 2001 and was eventually certified platinum whilst the album went on to sell over two million copies. Despite being a teenage hip-hop sensation Miller also harboured ambitions to be a professional basket player and after being granted a basketball scholarship to the University of Southern California it looked as if he might achieve his ambition. He played for the university team in the 2008-2009 season but in the end Miller's career in music and various acting opportunities took priority and he has become successful at both with a string of hit albums and singles and numerous film and TV credits.
