Mallrat

Grace Kathleen Elizabeth Shaw (born 25 September 1998 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australian), known as Mallrat, is an Australian musician singer and rapper. Attending a performing arts high school, she began writing her own music in 2014, with both debut single “Suicide Blonde” and EP Uninvited released in 2015, while she was in year 12. In 2017, she was invited to perform at major music festival Splendour in the Grass and in October, released highly acclaimed singles “Better” and “UFO” from her second EP In the Sky, alongside “Groceries” which attained triple platinum status, despite only charting in the top 50. The song was ranked 7th in the Triple J Hottest 100 chart, with the singer creeping up to number 3 the following year with single “Charlie", from her third EP Driving Music appearing at number 3, earning her a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2020 ARIA Awards. Over the next few years, she appeared as a featured artist, collaborating with Brisbane pop group Cub Sport, American rapper Azealia Banks, and acclaimed singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke and in February 2022, released her debut studio album Butterfly Blue with lead single “To You” achieving chart success in New Zealand and Wish On An Eyelash 2 featuring American duo The Chainsmokers debuting on the Billboard charts in December, peaking at number 14.
