Marco Beltrami

Composer Marco Beltrami has carved himself a niche within the genre of modern horror films. His distinctively percussive style characterised by dramatic hits and stabs has proved a popular amongst directors such as Wes Craven, Alex Proyas, Len Wiseman, John Moore and Guillermo del Toro. Beltrami's brooding, moody compositions have provided the aural backdrop for films such as Scream, Hellboy and Resident Evil (which he co-wrote with Marilyn Manson). Although best known for his darker compositions written for the large Hollywood studios, Beltrami's work also often appears in independent movies. He wrote the atmospheric score for the critically acclaimed Tommy Lee Jones neo-western The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada and received an Academy Award nomination for John Mangold's remake of the western classic 3:10 To Yuma. In 2010 he won a Satellite Award for Best Original Score for the soundtrack to the drama Soul Surfer. Other more recent composing credits include Pierce Brosnan's spy film November Man and the 2015 release of Fantastic Four. Beltrami also provided the scores for X-Men films The Wolverine and Logan.
