Nanne

A multi-faceted entertainer, Marianne Elisabeth Nordqvist is known professionally as Nanne Grönvall: singer-songwriter, radio host and actor. Born on May 18, 1962 in Stockholm, Sweden, she began her musical trajectory in the late '80s with Melodifestivalen (Swedish Eurovision selections) contestants Sound of Music, later working as a songwriter for the festival. From 1991 to 1997 she was a member of the pop group One More Time with her husband Peter Grönvall and Maria Rådsten, with whom she released four albums and performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 1996. Nanne's debut solo album, Cirkus Homo Sapiens, arrived in 1998 with the singer amassing a further six albums as a solo artist, including 2014's Drama Queen. She is also a well-known radio host with her own show, Nanne i P4, and in 2015 competed as a celebrity dancer in Sweden's Let's Dance. Nanne has picked up numerous awards both as a performer and songwriter over the years, including a Grammy Award in 1995 for Song of the Year for "Det Vackraste," which she wrote for Cecilia Vennersten to perform at Melodifestivalen. In 2020, she was entered into the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame.
