N.O.R.E.

Noreaga is the stage name of hardcore New York rapper Victor Santiago, also known as N.O.R.E. He came to prominence as part of the duo Capone-n-Noriega, who released the striking debut album 'War Report' in 1997. The pair had met in prison. After Capone (real name Kiam Holley) was imprisoned again Noreaga released the 1998 solo album 'N.O.R.E.' The title refers to the acronym 'Niggaz On the Run Eating'. It featured songs such as 'Superthug' and 'Banned from TV' and had contributions from several stars including Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, Nas and Busta Rhymes. He followed this up with the album 'Melvyn Flynt Da Hustler' in 1999. His third album was 'God's Favorite' in 2002, which saw him change his moniker to N.O.R.E. and move towards a reggaeton sound reflecting his Puerto Rican roots. He released the reggaeton single 'Oye mi Canto' in 2004, which was a big hit. In 2006 he released another mainly reggaeton album 'N.O.R.E. y la familia. Ya tu Sabe', which included the singles 'Oye Mi Canto' and 'Mas Maiz'. Guest contributions came from Dandy Yankee, Big Mato and Nina Sky. His released his fifth solo album, 'Noreality', in 2007 followed in 2013 by 'Student of the Game'. He has since devoted more time to being CEO of his own label, Militainment Business. In 2018 he released the album '5E'.
