Paola & Chiara

Paola & Chiara are an Italian pop duo consisting of sisters Paola and Chiara Iezzi. Hailing from Milan, both Paola and Chiara began performing with the group 883 before going their separate ways in 1997. Not long after that, they made their official debut as a duo with the single "Amici Come Prima," a song that helped them win the New Artist category at the Sanremo Festival. Ci Chiamano Bambine, their first studio album, appeared late that year and debuted at Number 33 on the Italian charts. This success was followed by the Celtic-tinged Giornata Storica (1998) and Television (2000), a dance-oriented pop album that achieved international success thanks to the chart-topping hit single "Vamos a Bailar." The group would continue in the same vein on the albums Festival (2002) and Blu (2004), both of which also entered the charts in Switzerland. Over the next few years, the sisters made their respective solo debuts and moved to the independent label Trepertre, which released the LPs Win the Game (2007), Milleluci (2010), and Giungla (2013), the duo's last studio effort before its dissolution in 2013. In 2023, Paola & Chiara surprised their fans by announcing they would perform together once again at the Sanremo Festival. "Furore," their first single in a decade, placed 17th in the competition and peaked at Number 37 on the Italian Singles Chart.
