Phoebe Bridgers

The Grammy-nominated indie rock songwriter Phoebe Bridgers was born on August 17, 1994, in Pasadena, California. After releasing her earliest recordings through Ryan Adams' Pax AM label, she earned critical acclaim with Stranger in the Alps, her 2017 solo debut, as well as her Boygenius project with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. Bridgers remained in the collaborative spirit for years, releasing one-off duets with Fionna Apple, Lord Huron, the 1975, and the National's Matt Beringer while recording an entire album, Better Oblivious Community Center, alongside Conor Oberst. By the time her second solo record, Punisher, appeared in 2020, Bridgers had become a commercial success in addition to a recurring critics' pick, with the album cracking the Top 10 in Scotland, New Zealand, and the UK, while peaking at Number 2 on the U.S. Alternative chart.
