Pilar Montenegro

Pilar Montenegro is a Mexican singer and actress. She was a member of the popular dance group Garibaldi before gaining roles in Mexican soap operas such as 'Gotita De Amor', 'Marisol' and 'Volver a Empezar'. Her solo career took off with the 1996 album 'Son del Corazon', which included songs such as the rhumba-style 'De Amarte' and 'Eres Todo Para Mi', a Spanish-language version of Neil Sedaka's 'You Mean Everything to Me'. Her next album was 'Desahogo' in 2001, which included the massive single 'Quitame Ese Hombre', a cover version of the song by Yolandita Monge. Her 2004 album 'Pilar' contained the hit single 'Prisonera', which was also the theme song of the soap opera of the same name. Pilar also teamed up with fellow actress Gizelle D'Cole on the 2004 dance album 'Euroreggaeton'. In 2005 Pilar & Co released the album 'South Beach', featuring Don Omar, Voltio, Maestro, Machito Ponce and several other popular acts. Pilar's next albums were 'Siempre Tuya' (2010) and 'Se Me Ha Perdido un Corazon' (2011).
