Pinegrove

American alternative country group Pinegrove is a fluid concept with a revolving roster of musicians built around the core duo of singer and guitarist Evan Stephens Hall and drummer Zack Levine. The band formed in 2010 and for the first few years of its existence released music independently and organised its own live performances. It was during this period that the band released their debut album 'Meridian'. In 2015 they signed a deal with the independent label Run for Cover and a year later released their second full-length album 'Cardinal'. The recording represented four years of work by Hall and Levine and is now considered a seminal work for the band which at the time was universally praised by critics, many of whom believed the band were on the verge of a major breakthrough. As the band's career began to take off Hall became embroiled in legal issues. The band took an extended break and after dropping out of the public eye the Pinegrove project lost vital momentum. In 2019 the band staged a comeback with a sell-out nationwide tour and in 2020 they were signed by the UK's Rough Trade Records who undertook to distribute the band's most recent album 'Marigold'.
