Right Said Fred

Taking their name from a 1962 UK comedy hit by Bernard Cribbins, brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass made it big as Right Said Fred through their outrageously camp 1991 dance hit, I'm Too Sexy. By then the shaven-haired brothers had been performing together for two years and were joined by third member Rob Manzoli in time for their much-imitated breakthrough, which went to Number 1 in 30 countries, including the USA; although it was held off the UK top spot for six weeks by Bryan Adams' (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. Jocelyn Brown featured on their follow-up single Don't Talk Just Kiss and they finally made it to Number 1 in the UK in 1992 with another humorous dance record, Deeply Dippy, while their album Up remained in the UK Top 40 for over a year. The albums Sex And Travel and Smashing! followed and the brothers continued as a duo following the departure of Rob Manzoli in 1996. Their popularity continued throughout Europe when Stand Up (For The Champions) became popular at various international sporting events. They performed at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Berlin in 2006 and were back with a new album I'm A Celebrity in 2008, maintaining their appeal with the single Sexy Bum. Richard Fairbrass also built a parallel career as a TV presenter.
