Rombai

Rombai perform and record with a mix of reggaeton and urban beats blended with South American cumbia villera. The band was formed in Uruguay in 2014 by singers Fer Vázquez and Camila Rajchman alongside their fellow university students: guitarist Felipe Sánchez, bassist Nicolás Velloso, percussionists Brian Garcia and Tomás Rajchman, keyboard player Ramiro Caruso and güiro player Nathalie Rubinstein. The band members changed throughout the years, with singer Emilia Mernes fronting the band for some time but the current line-up is a trio that features Vázquez with singers Valeria Emiliani and Megumi Bowles. They have released several singles including "Locuras Contigo" (2014), "Noche Loca" (2015), and "Qué Rico Baila" (2017). Their seven-track album titled De Fiesta was released in 2016, followed later that year by the film Marama - Rombai - El Viaje, which documented their rise to fame. Over the following years, the group released a series of standalone singles and returned in full form in 2021 with the album POSITIVO. Featuring cameos by Fer Palacio, John C, and Migrantes, POSITIVO included the hit single "Me Voy," originally released in 2018. 2023 found lead singer Fer Vázquez reconnecting with former vocalist Camila Rajchman on the single "Cumbia Cheta," which peaked at number 80 on the Argentine Billboard charts.
