Samantha Cole

US pop singer-songwriter Samantha Cole (born in Southampton, New York on October 19, 1978) made a name for herself on MTV's dance music show The Grind in the 1990s. Her star-studded self-titled debut album, which emerged in 1997, featured a dazzling array of hotshot producers, including Nile Rodgers and Diane Warren. The album showcased Cole's impressive vocal range and spawned three singles; "Happy With You", which peaked at Number 78 in the US, "Without You" and "You Light Up My Life". Cole joined forces with reggae grandee Shaggy in 2001 for the single "Luv Me Luv Me", which made it to Number 5 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2005, a cover of "Obsession" by US synthpop group Animotion helped Cole to carve a place on the New York club scene. Since then, she has taken on acting work and in November 2020 unwrapped an album of festive fancies titled Christmas Favorites.
