Saweetie

Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, who goes by the name Saweetie, is an American hip-hop performer who was born on July 2, 1993, in Santa Clara, California. She began uploaded her original rap music to the internet in 2016 and released her debut single, “Icy Girl,” in 2017, along with a video that became extremely popular on video streaming platforms. The platinum-certified track appeared on her debut EP, 2018's High Maintenance. She collaborated with producer London on da Track for her 2018 single “Up Now” and her 2019 hit “My Type,” the latter of which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019 and eventually went triple-platinum. Preceded by the hit singles “Back to the Streets” with Jhené Aiko” and “Tap In”, Saweetie’s studio debut Pretty Bitch Music arrived in 2021. “Best Friend,” one of the singles off the album featuring Doja Cat, spawned several successful remixes in both the US and Europe, reaching Number 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic chart as well as the German Singles Chart. That same year, Saweetie dropped an EP titled Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 that included guest spots by Bbyafricka, Drakeo the Ruler, Jae, Lourdiz, and Loui. She released a number of standalone singles in 2023, too, including "Birthday" (a number 19 hit on Billboard's Rhythmic chart) and "Shot O'Clock."
