SHAED

The American electro pop band Shaed were formed in Washington D.C. and are comprised of vocalist Chelsea Lee and multi-instrumentalists Max and Spencer Ernst. The roots of the band can be traced back to 2011 when the Ernst brothers were still attending college in Maryland. Here they formed the duo The Walking Sticks and released their debut EP 'World So Bright'. The band's style at this time was steeped in the folk rock genre but for the second EP 'Send the Night', the duo reinvented themselves as an electro pop band. Following the release of the EP, the duo absorbed Spencer Ernst's girlfriend Chelsea Lee into the group and renamed it Shaed. Lee had already had a brief career as a recording artist after signing to Atlantic Records in 2009 but had failed to have any significant success. After signing to Photo Finish Records the band toured with artists such as Marian Hill, Vérité and Bishop Briggs. After releasing their debut EP as Shaed one of the tracks from the EP 'Name On It' was featured in a Victoria's Secret advertisement and the band began to get noticed. To date their best known song has been 'Trampoline', a song used by Apple for one of their TV campaigns in 2018.
