Shane Filan

As a key member of Irish group Westlife, Shane Filan sold over 50 million records, scored 14 UK Number 1s and was part of one of the biggest boy bands in the world thanks to their swooning ballads and crooning pop anthems. The band split in 2012 with a gig in front of 80,000 people at Coke Park Stadium but, after losing all his money in the Irish property crash, Filan was declared bankrupt and forced to re-invent himself as a solo performer. Signed to London Records and managed by Louis Walsh, he recorded debut album You And Me (2013) in Nashville and Dublin and developed a sound influenced by the classic, mid-tempo pop of Michael Bublé and the folk rock of Mumford & Sons. He used his financial troubles and the loyalty of his wife as an inspiration for his songwriting and it worked, with the album reaching Number 6 in the UK charts. It also produced the singles Everything To Me and About You and firmly put Filan back on his feet.
