Soul Clap

American DJ and production duo, Eli "Elyte" Goldstein and Charles "Cnyce" Levine, (known as Lonely C), first crossed paths in high school, forming musical project Soul Clap, in Boston in 2001. Heavily influenced by record store owner and house DJ, Caril Mitro, the duo initiated their own Boston-based parties, making a name for themselves on the underground club circuit, gaining recognition for their bootleg remixes of R&B classics and house tracks. In 2008, they started releasing singles and EPs through Airdrop Music, beginning with The Giraffe Remixes, followed by the Instafix EP in 2009, with debut album The Definition, emerging in the same year. The pivotal moment came, however, when Soul Clap met DJ duo Wolf + Lamb in Brooklyn, leading to the Joint Custody EP and a two-month world tour, where the duo delivered lengthy six-hour DJ sets, across the US, Europe, and Japan. Their next album Social Experiment 002 was released in 2011 on Jonny White's No. 19 Music record label, marking their first commercially available mix, and with a growing fanbase, were invited to collaborated on official remixes for artists such as Laid Back, Metronomy, Little Dragon, Robert Owens, and DJ Harvey. In 2012, they commenced the production of their next album, titled EFUNK: The Album, which included their first original and unreleased material in almost two years, blending electro-funk with influences from the 90s RnB, house, disco, and New Jack Swing, releasing a string of EPs and singles over the next few years including In Da Kar (2015), Soul Clap (2016) and The Story So Far (2016), joining forces with Nona Hendryx in 2018 for the EP Keep Funkin. In 2021, they released WTF (World Transformation Force), followed by the remix album WTF: Transformed & Remixed the following year, returning in 2023 with singles “My Tribe” and "Sueno Hebreo."
