Stanton Moore

Stanton Moore is a well-regarded American jazz musician from New Orleans who plays drums in a range of styles from funk to blues to rock and metal with his own Stanton Moore Trio, the bands Galactic and Garage a Trois and with other major artists. His 2017 release 'With You in Mind: The Songs of Allen Toussaint', a tribute to the late Louisiana music icon, went to number three on Billboard's Jazz Albums Chart. Respected as a teacher, he created his own drum company, established the Stanton Moore Drum Academy in 2017 and offers lessons on his website. He played on Corrosion of Conformity's 'In the Arms of God', Irma Thomas's 'After the Rain', Robert Walter's 'Super Heavy Organ' and Joss Stone's 'Colour Me Free!' among others. His albums include 'Flyin' the Koop' which peaked at number 26 on the Jazz Chart in 2002, 'III' which reached number 36 in 2006, 'Emphasis! (On Parenthesis)' which got to number 31 in 2008, 'Groove Academy' made number 31 in 2010 and 'Conversations' reached number 26 in 2014. He performs around the world with various musicians, the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. His 2018 schedule included performances at venues in Atlanta, Memphis, Charlotte, and New Orleans.
