Synapson

French DJs Alexandre Chière and Paul Cucuron have been working together since childhood, forming the electro duo Synapson. The Parisian partnership took shape in 2009, and the following year saw the release of the Haute Couture EP, followed in 2011 by the Another Man EP, featuring veteran soul band The Temptations. In 2012, the duo released their debut album, Stendhal Syndrome, a blend of deep house and nu-disco popular with Parisian and New York nightclub-goers. In 2014, he used the voice of Burkinabé singer Victor Démé for the track "Djon Maya Maï", ranking number 12 in France, followed in 2015 by the revelation album Convergence, which reached number 26 and featured a number of performers including singer Anna Kova on the single "All in You," as well as Tessa B, Charles Havey and fellow artists Broken Back. Following the release of an enhanced edition of Convergence, the duo return in 2018 with the track "Hide Away," as a prelude to the album Super 8 released the same year. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the duo released the diptych Global Musique, Vol. 1 (2020) and Global Musique, Vol. 2 (2022), featuring collaborations with Oumou Sangaré, Flavia Coelho, Tim Dup, Blick Bassy, Bonga, David Walters, Dominique Fils-Aimé and Moroccan duo Bab L' Bluz on the single "Waylalah".
