Take That

Take That is a British pop band that was founded as a boy band in Manchester in 1989. Alongside Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, the founding members also included Jason Orange and U.K pop star Robbie Williams. The group's first success came in 1990 with a cover version of "It Only Takes a Minute". After their debut album Take That & Party reached number 2 in the British charts in 1992, the band sold over 25 million records between 1991 and 1996 with Number 1 hits such as "Relight My Fire" and "Back for Good," topping the charts in 31 countries. After Williams' shock departure in 1995, Take That announced their official split a short time later, reuniting in 2005 as a quartet, releasing Number 1 albums Beautiful World (2006) and The Circus (2008) winning the BRIT Award for Best British Group 2011, before taking a hiatus to work on solo projects, seeing Orange leave the group, permanently. Undeterred, Take That continued to record new music, releasing their single "These Days" from the album III as a trio in 2014, followed by Wonderland in 2017 and best-of album Odyssey a year later. After an extended hiatus, they returned to the top of the charts with ninth studio album, This Life, in November, 2023.
