The Dead Daisies

Formed by businessman and musician David Lowy (eldest son of the Westfield Corporation co-founder Frank Lowy) and New Zealand-born Noiseworks singer Jon Stevens, The Dead Daisies are a supergroup made up of musicians from bands such as Guns N' Roses, Whitesnake and The Rolling Stones. They released their self-titled debut album in 2013, bursting onto the scene with the lead single 'Lock N' Load' penned by Slash who also featured on guitar. The band's first tour saw them opening for ZZ Top and they then played alongside Aerosmith for their Australia and New Zealand legs. By this time Lowy and Stevens had been joined by three former members of Guns N' Roses - drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardist Dizzy Reed, and bassist Marco Mendoza from Whitesnake. Later in 2013 the band travelled across the pond to play an 18-date tour with Black Star Riders. They recruited Rolling Stones drummer Charley Drayton and bassist Darryl Jones to complete the line-up. They went on to tour the US with Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd in early 2014, followed by the Heroes Tour with Kiss and Def Leppard later in the year. Their new drummer, John Tempesta from The Cult, then joined them. In late 2014 they released an EP, 'Face I Love', featuring a cover of The Beatles song 'Helter Skelter'. Their second album 'RevoluciĆ³n' was released in 2015 along with the announcement that John Corabi would take over the job as lead vocalist as Stevens had decided to step down. Fortus and Reed also departed soon after, opting to join the Guns N' Roses Not in This Lifetime tour, with Burning Rain guitarist Doug Aldrich filling in. With the new line-up they released their third album 'Make Some Noise' in 2016 and went out on the road playing predominantly European festivals. During their festival appearances they recorded the live album 'Live & Louder' which they put out in 2017 featuring 16 live tracks and a DVD of backstage footage from the road. 'Burnt It Down' came in 2018 along with the announcement of a 26-date UK tour.
