The Lumineers

The Lumineers became one of the breakthrough acts of 2012 with their own brand of Americana and folk pop. Formed by guitarist Wesley Schultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites in New Jersey in 2005, the pair moved to Denver, Colorado, recruited cellist Neylah Pekarek via an advert on Craigslist, and spent years crafting their songs and performing locally. Their big break came when song "Ho Hey" was used in the television drama Hart of Dixie and a healthy online buzz led to a deal with Dualtone Records. The single went on to become a worldwide hit, reaching Number 3 in the US and Number 8 in the UK. A self-titled debut album shot to Number 2 in the US in 2012. A second studio, Cleopatra, followed in 2016 and featured the singles "Ophelia," "Angela," and the title track "Cleopatra." 2018 saw the departure of Neylah Pekarek, who left the group to focus on a solo career, and the band released their third album, III, one year later. Brightside followed in 2022, peaking at Number 6 in the US and producing a Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot Rock chart with its title track.
