Time Bandits

Dutch new wave group Time Bandits was conceived by Alides Hidding along with members Marco Ligtenberg (keyboards), Guus Strijbosch (bass) and Dave van den Dries (drums), in Amsterdam in 1981. The group enjoyed chart success all over the world, breaking onto the American dance charts with hits "Live It Up" (1981) which peaked at Number 1, and "I'm Only Shooting Love" (1985), which peaked at Number 2. Their debut self-titled album of 1982 spawned the hit singles "I'm Specialized in You", which reached Number 2 in the Netherlands, and “Endless Love”. By the mid-1980s, Time Bandits had also achieved success in Australia, with "I'm Only Shooting Love" and "Endless Road" (where its music video was filmed) both becoming Top 10 hits. These singles and other hits such as "Listen to the Man with the Golden Voice", "Dancing on a String" and "I'm Specialized in You" were also successful in the Netherlands, Germany, France and New Zealand (where "I'm Only Shooting Love" hit number one in June 1984). Time Bandits released its second album Tracks in 1983, and 1985 saw the arrival of third album Fiction. Fourth album Can't Wait For Another World was released in 1987, the same year Hidding relocated to Los Angeles to work on new material with producer Dan Hartman. He returned to Europe in 1994 and Time Bandits released another two albums of new material, including Out of the Blue in 2012.
