Vazquez Sounds

Music runs in the family for Mexico’s sibling DIY pop trio Vázquez Sounds, whose father is producer Abelardo Vázquez and who record and edit their music at his recording studio. Also known as V-Sounds, the Mexicali-born group is comprised of Abelardo "Abe", Gustavo "Gus" and Angela "Angie" Vázquez. Angie provides lead vocals while all three musicians play an array of instruments. First forming in 2011, Vázquez Sounds became viral YouTube sensations for their cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, which topped the Mexican Top 100 Chart, and was certified platinum in Mexico. Vázquez Sounds released their second single, a cover of Mariah Carey’s "All I Want for Christmas Is You", and following the release of their self-titled covers album in 2012, they recorded their debut album of original music in 2014. Invencible earned the trio a Best New Artist nomination at the 2015 Latin GRAMMYs. Vázquez Sounds have gone on to record a mixture of cover versions and original songs, including 2019's "Phoenix".
