Vomitory

Swedish death metal favourites Vomitory were formed in Forshaga in 1989 by guitarist Urban Gustafsson and bassist Ronnie Olson who then welcomed drummer Tobias Gustafsson and bassist Bengt Sund. After expanding to a quintet with the addition of guitarist Ulf Dalegren, they released their first single "Moribund" in 1991 followed by their debut album, the controversial Raped in Their Own Blood, in 1996 via the Dutch label Fadeless Records. Another line-up reshuffle followed in its wake, with Jussi Linna taking on singing duties and Erik Rundqvist on bass duties. The band's second album Redemption landed in 1999 via America's Metal Blade Records, which helped to boost their international reputation and ensured their continued reign on the metal scene, with Revelation Nausea (2001), Blood Rapture (2002) and Primal Massacre (2004) all following, with guitarist Ulf Dalegren replaced by Peter Östlund for 2007's Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize. Two more albums followed—2009's Carnage Euphoria (2009) and 2011's Opus Mortis VIII (2011) before Vomitory announced their dissolution in 2013. Officially reforming in 2018, Vomitory embarked on a tour in 2022 and released their ninth album, All Heads Are Gonna Roll, in 2023. The LP went to number 70 in Germany.
