Wanda

The pop rock Austrian band Wanda formed in Vienna in 2012. The quintet consisting of Michael Marco Fitzthum, Lukas Hasitschka, Christian Hummer, Manuel Christoph Poppe, and Reinhold Weber released their debut album, Amore, in 2014. They met with immediate success; the lead single, “Bologna” went top 40 and the album climbed to number 2. Combining indie pop sounds with love songs and rock energy, the band capitalized on their initial success with the 2015 LP Bussi, which went to number 1 in their home county, and top 10 in Germany and Switzerland. That album also produced their first top 5 single, “Bussi Baby”. They toured Europe and their third album, 2017’s Niente, not only topped the album chart, but included their first number 1 single, “Columbo”. 2019’s Ciao! Was their third straight number 1 album, but it failed to produce a successful single. They were back in 2020 with a new single, “Jurassic Park”, that returned them to the charts.
