W&W

W&W are a duo comprised of two Dutch producers, Willem van Hanegem and Wardt van der Harst. The two men met online through a chat group and began to exchange ideas and song productions with one another concentrating primarily on trance music. They both became independently successful as DJs and producers and then eventually met in person at the 2007 Trance Energy Festival in Holland. Their first collaboration of note was the song 'Mustang', available on general release from 2008, which became an underground hit on the trance music scene. After this initial success the duo began mixing elements of trance and electro house and moved into what followers of dance music call the big room house genre, a term given to some of the popular, anthem style house tunes popular in the larger dance venues and defined by a fairly narrow range of beats per minute, typically 126 to 132 bpm. The duo's 2012 song 'Lift Off' became one of the most distinctive songs of the genre and paved the way for the 2014 track 'Bigfoot' which was their first major commercial success. The duo have since created a succession of hit dance tunes but still remain true to their trance roots with a side project called NWYR.
