X Ambassadors

X Ambassadors are an American rock band formed in New York in 2009 by brothers Sam Harris, a singer and multi-instrumentalist, and keyboardist Casey Harris with guitarist Noah Feldshuh and drummer Adam Levin. An eponymous EP that showed off their serious, electronic style of indie rock garnered Internet attention in 2009 and, in 2013, they released two more EPs—Love Songs Drug Songs and 'The Reason. They toured with Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Eat World and The Mowglis and in 2015 made their album debut with VHS, which peaked at number 3 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums Chart and number 5 on the Billboard 200. Of their singles, "Renegades" (2015) topped Billboard's Hot Rock Songs Chart and cracked the Top 10 of the Adult Contemporary Chart while "Unsteady" (2016) peaked at number 2 on the Hot Rock Songs chart and number 12 on Adult Contemporary chart. The band delivered a second full-length album, Orion, in 2019. Preceded by the singles "Boom," "Hold You Down," and "Hey Child," Orion wasn't as commercially successful as its predecessor but still managed to reach number 25 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart. No new music was heard from X Ambassadors until 2021 when the group released the Top 10 single "My Own Monster," the first single from their third LP. The concept album Beautiful Liar dropped later that year, garnering extensive critical praise. It was followed by Townie in 2024.
