Ximena Sariñana

Ximena Sariñana is a Mexican singer and actress who was born in Guadalajara in 1985 into a family who had strong links to film and TV production. It is therefore not surprising she began her performing career as an actress, with Sariñana first rising to prominence as an 11-year-old child actor playing the villain 'Mariela' in the Mexican telenovela production of 'Luz Clarita'. More TV and film work followed, and by the time Sariñana was ready to begin her singing career she was already a very familiar face to Mexican television audiences. She launched her career as a solo artist at the age of 24 after signing to Warner in 2008. She already had experience as a songwriter having had three of her compositions used in the soundtrack of the film 'Amar te Duele' (2002). Her debut album was released under the title 'Mediocre' (2008) and sold more than 50,000 copies during the first month of release, eventually reaching number two in the Mexican charts prior to being certified platinum. The artist has released three further albums including '¿Dónde Bailarán Las Niñas? ' which was released in 2019.
