10cm

Kwon Jung-yeol, better known by his stage name 10cm, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and former member of the duo also known as 10cm. The original incarnation of 10cm consisted of Kwon and Yoon Cheol-jong, with Kwon taking the role of lead vocalist and playing percussion while Yoon performed backing vocals as well as playing guitar and tambourine. The name was a nod to the height difference between the pair. They debuted in 2011 with '10cm the First EP', winning the This Year's Discovery Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards the same year. Their first two albums, '1.0' (2011) and '2.0' (2012), failed to set the Korean charts on fire, but with 2014's '3.0' they cracked the top ten. In 2017, however, Yoon announced that he would leave the group, citing health reasons. Kwon carried the name forward as a solo artist and released his first album without Yoon, '4.0', in September that year. It peaked at number 18 on the Korean chart and led to a number of top 40 singles over the next few years.
