Arashi

Arashi are a J-pop group from Tokyo who blend rock, R&B and hip-hop into their performances. Formed in 1999, the line-up features singers Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Kazunari Ninomiya and Jun Matsumoto. Their debut album 'Arashi No. 1 Ichigou: Arashi Wa Arashi O Yobu!' topped Japan's Oricon Albums Chart in 2001 and most of their subsequent releases also went to number one on the chart including 'Iza, Now' (2004), 'One' (2005), 'Time' (2007), 'Beautiful World' (2011), 'The Digitalian' (2014), 'Are You Happy?' (2016) and 'Untitled' (2017). Many tracks topped Japan's Oricon Singles Chart and eight went to number one on Billboard's Japan Hot 100: 'Meikyu Love Song' (2011), 'Wild at Heart' (2012), 'Face Down' (2012), 'Your Eyes' (2012), 'Bittersweet' (2014), 'Guts!' (2014), 'Sakura' (2015) and 'Power of Paradise' (2016). They have released five compilation albums including '5x20 All the Best! 1999-2019', which topped the Japan Albums Chart upon its release in June 2019. Their anniversary tour began in 2018 and continued across Japan in 2019. In January 2019, they announced that the group would begin a hiatus at the end of 2020 to allow members to pursue solo activities.
