Bullet Train

Japanese boyband Bullet Train (超特急, Chōtokkyū) came hurtling onto the scene in December 2011 and released their first single in 2012, "Train," with the follow-up single "Shake Body" also coming that year. The group – comprising a mix of main dancers and so-called 'back vocalists' – were assembled by Tokyo's Stardust Promotion, commonly associated with all-female groups like Momoiro Clover Z and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, and often draw comparisons with the former. All-male troupe Bullet Train aka members Kai (カイ) / Kai Ogasawara (小笠原 海), leader Ryōga (リョウガ) / Ryōga Funatsu (船津 稜雅), Takuya (タクヤ) / Takuya Kusakawa (草川 拓弥), Yūki (ユーキ) / Yūki Murata (村田 祐基) and Takashi (タカシ) / Takashi Matsuo (松尾 太陽) went to Number 1 in Japan with their debut album, Ring, released in 2014. They scored another chart-topper with their second album, Dramatic Seven, (2016) and following the release of the album, Golden Epoch, picked up their first award on MAMA2018 in Japan. Bullet Train dropped five new singles in 2019, with two of them making it into Japan's Top 10 – "Hey Hey Hey" (Number 4) and "Revival Love" (Number 3). A new single landed in 2021, "Carnaval."
