EXILE THE SECOND

Exile The Second (stylised as EXILE THE SECOND) is a six-member Japanese music group comprising Kenchi, Keiji, Tetsuya, Nesmith, Shokichi, and Akira; former members of Japanese dance and vocal collective EXILE. In 2012, the group made their debut with "THINK 'BOUT IT!" which went straight to number 3 on the charts and was certified gold, with follow-up single "SURVIVORS” (2012) charting at number 8. Their first album, THE II AGE appeared in 2014, which sold over 51,000 copies in the first week of its release, topping Oricon's weekly albums chart. The group’s next two singles attracted considerable success, with gold-certified “YEAH!! YEAH!! YEAH!!” (2016) peaking at number 2 on the charts and “Shut up!! Shut up!! Shut up!!” winning the award for Best Group Video at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in Japan. In 2017, the group released their second album BORN TO BE WILD, with hit single "WILD WILD WILD" used as the official theme song for the Japanese release of the movie Suicide Squad. In 2017, the group released 7th and 8th singles "Summer Lover" and "Route 66" (both charting at number 2), with third album titled Highway Star appearing on March 8, 2018, which peaked at number 3. In 2020, EXILE THE SECOND released their eponymous best-of album as well as "Hi Noboru Hikari ni ~ Pray for Now ~ (日昇る光に ~Pray for Now~)” which was chosen as the official support song for the Japanese Judo Federation during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After a short hiatus, the group reunited in 2023 to release a two-track single “Twilight Cinema”, featuring the title track as well as a solo track “カゲロウ” by group member and songwriter Shokichi.
