Gang Parade

Japanese girl group Gang Parade (ギャングパレード), stylised as GANG PARADE, came together in July 2014 initially as a duo called Pla2me (プラニメ) and comprising members Saki Kamiya and Mari Mizuta. They released their debut single "Plastic 2 Mercy" on Japan's T-Palette Records with a follow-up, "Unit," landing in January 2015. After Mari Mizuta quit the group over a "difference in opinion" they were reborn as POP (Period Of Plastic 2 Mercy) and brought in four new members: Miki Yamamachi, Yua Yumeno, Ao Shigusawa, and Maaya Inukai. They released their debut self-titled album later that year, which went to number 33 on Japan's Oricon Albums Chart and 51 on the Billboard Japan chart. After dropping two more singles, they decided to change their name once again, this time to Gang Parade and released their debut single as Gang Parade, "We Are The Idol," in July 2016. A lack of family support forced Ao Shigusawa to quit the group with her replacement coming in the form of new member Can GP Maika. A trio of other new members, Coco Partin Coco, Yuka Terashima, and Yui Ga Dockson, also joined the group that year. Gang Parade's debut self-titled album Barely Last was released in 2016 and went to number 29 on Japan's Oricon Album Charts. Following a series of concert tours, their third album Gang Parade Takes Themselves Higher!! was released in November 2017 and went to number 14 in Japan. Their fourth album, Last Gang Parade, landed in January 2019 and the group welcomed new member Naruhaworld into the fold that May. The group inaugurated their new label home of Fueled By Mentaiko with their eleventh single "Brand New Parade" in April 2019 and dropped their fourth album, Love Parade, that November. In 2020, Gang Parade splintered into two groups: Go to the Beds, comprising Miki Yamamachi, Yua Yumeno, Can GP Maika, Yui Ga Dockson, and Coco Partin Coco, and Paradises, comprising Yuka Terashima, Usagi Tsukino, and Naruhaworld. They released split EP, G/P, and held their supposedly final concert at Tokyo's Nakano Sun Plaza on May 22, 2021, but revived the group the following year, adding Kila May, Ca Non, and Changbaby as new members. They released new single, "Parade Goes On," in March 2022 and more line-up additions followed, with Ainastar and Potential (then known as Tantan) joining Gang Parade. In May 2022, they released the compilation album, Welcome to Gang Parade, under their new 13-member incarnation. The group returned with their fifth album Our Parade in 2023. That same year also saw the launch of a group featuring Gang Parade's six youngest members.
