Jacob Karlzon

Born October 19, 1970 in Jönköping, Sweden, Jacob Karlzon is a jazz pianist and composer. Over the years, his playing style has been compared to Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans. Unlike many jazz pianists, he adds different musical elements to his sound including metal and electro. Alongside his own solo work, he has accompanied many other artists including Cæcilie Norby, Gino Vannelli, Nils Landgren, Till Brönner and Lisa Bassenge. He is also known for his work as a musical director for Viktoria Tolstoy. He has released a series of solo albums as well as releases with his trio. His albums include Take Your Time (1996), Going Places (1998), Today (2002), Heat (2009), Now (2016), and One (2019). In 2010, Karlzon was awarded the Swedish Django d'Or and voted Jazz Musician of the Year. In 2012 he was added to the Steinway Artist roster, and in 2015 was acclaimed Jazz-group of the Year in the Swedish Radio’s audience poll.
