Nagi Yanagi

Nagi Yanagi (born on May 31, 1987 in Osaka, Japan) (known as yanaginagi) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Discovering a passion for music and singing at an early age, she began publishing song covers on social networks and independently releasing her own dōjin albums. Forming the duo Binaria with Argentine-Japanese singer Annabel in 2006, the duo recorded two mini albums, Alhaja (2007) and Forma (2007) as well as singles "Epoca" (2008), "Alba" (2009) "Delightful Doomsday" (2010) and "Nachtflug" (2011). During this time, Yanagi continued to develop her solo career, releasing EN (2006), Leonis (2007), Freirinite (2008) and Ōrito no Yume (2010). Collaborating with Japanese writer Jun Maeda, Yanagi released concept album Owari no Hoshi no Love Song in 2012, followed by solo albums Euaru (2013) and Polyomino (2014), reaching number 4 and 7 on the charts, respectively. Gaining considerable popularity among anime fans, Yanagi’s music is frequently used for television series theme-songs, featuring in Waiting in the Summer (2012), Chronos Ruler (2017) and Iroduku: The World in Colors (2018), amongst others, and in 2019, was invited to perform at popular Vancouver anime convention Anime Revolution. Between 2016 and 2020, Yanagi released a further three albums: Follow My Tracks (2016), Natte (2018) and Emeraro Type (2020), reuniting with Jun Maeda in 2022 to record Love Song from the Water, released on October 26, 2022, featuring hit singles “Before I Rise (2022), “Burn My Universe” (2022) and “Sad Creature” (2022).
