Nao Tōyama

Japanese voice actress and singer Nao Tōyama was born in Tokyo on March 11, 1992. She became infatuated with anime from a very young age, citing series like Ojamajo Doremi, Sailor Moon, and Fullmetal Alchemist as some of her early influences. After completing her voice acting training at the Japan Narration Acting Institute, she joined the agency Arts Vision and made her debut in the 2010 video animation Hiyokoi. Her first lead role arrived later that year on the anime series The World God Only Knows, in which she played Kanon Nakagawa. Simultaneously, she also lent her voice to several songs in the series’ original soundtrack. In 2014, she abandoned Arts Vision for Intention and joined the band Rhodante*, with whom she recorded the theme song for the series Kin-iro Mosaic. Her debut single “True Destiny/Chain the World” appeared in 2017 and was followed by her first studio full-length Rainbow, which reached Number 12 on the Japanese charts later that year. A second LP titled Gunjō Infinity arrived in early 2019. “Aruiteikō!,” her first single of 2020, entered the Top 10 of the Oricon Singles Chart and was used as the opening theme for the anime series Asteroid in Love. In 2022, her song “Growing” peaked at Number 11 on the domestic singles chart.
