Nik & Jay

Nik & Jay are a Danish hip-hop duo who formed in 2002 and have enjoyed a sporadic but very successful recording output during their career with more than 15 top ten singles and five top three albums released between 2002 and 2013. Comprised of school friends Niclas Petersen and Jannik Thomsen, the duo have earned respect from fans and critics alike for their well-crafted compositions using musical influences taken from pop, R&B and hip-hop. Their self-titled debut single was released in 2002 reaching number three in the charts and was certified gold in the process. The follow-up single 'Hot!' came out the following year and earned them Hit of the Year and Best New Artist at the Danish Music Awards in 2003. Since 2014 their records haven't achieved the same levels of commercial success as their early material but their albums still perform well in the charts, with their most recent album 'Magnolia' reaching number 18 in 2019.
