Pedro Suarez-Vertiz

Pedro Suárez-Vértiz is a Peruvian singer and songwriter who rose to fame as the vocalist of the rock band Arena Hash. He was born on February 13, 1969, in Bellavista, Callao. He began his musical career in the 1980s as the lead vocalist of the rock band Arena Hash, which he formed with his brother Patricio. The band quickly gained a large following in Peru and Latin America, thanks to their energetic performances and catchy songs, releasing two studio albums between 1988 and 1991. After making his solo debut in 1993 with the album (No Existen) Técnicas Para Olvidar, he secured a record deal with Sony Music and released his sophomore effort Póntelo en la Lengua in 1996. Driven by singles like "Los Globos del Cielo," "Mi Auto Era una Rana," and "Me Estoy Enamorando," the album sold over 40,000 copies and obtained triple-platinum certification in Peru. Over the next few years, Pedro Suárez-Vértiz experimented with genres such as hip-hop, reggae, and electronica on 1999's Degeneración Actual and continued to deliver a steady stream of hits on albums like Play (2004), Talk Show (2006), and Amazonas (2009). During this time, he also toured throughout Peru, the US, and Europe, and published his first book Yo, Pedro in 2013. Between 2018 and 2019, he served as a judge on the singing competition Los Cuatro Finalistas.
