Rachel Podger

Rachel Podger is an English classical music violinist who attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has attained an international reputation as a violinist and conductor of principally Baroque music. She has toured America and acted as music director of educational institutions in Poland, America and England. She founded the Palladian Ensemble and a group called Florilegium to play Baroque music and leads other ensembles internationally. Her many recordings feature works by Bach, Purcell, Mozart, Vivaldi and others. Albums include Mozart's 'Complete Sonatas for Keyboard & Violin' (2007) with pianist Gary Cooper, 'Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Mozart/Haydn' (2009) with violinist Pavlo Beznosiuk and the Sinfonia Concertante, and 'W.A. Mozart - M. Haydn' (2011) with viola player Jane Rogers. Her 2020 schedule was to include performances in New York and England but several were cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak and future dates in London, Belgium and California are awaiting confirmation.
