Shamur

Comprising Italian producers Emanuele Marascia and Sandro Murru and powered by lead two vocalists, European pop-fusion group Shamur scored a hit in 2004 with their debut, party-starting bhangra-influenced single, "Let the Music Play," which took inspiration from Punjabi folk music. The track was followed by a second single, "Gonna Make It" and a full-length album, Shardana, which came in 2009. The group retreated from the limelight after that, with band members lending their focus to their own projects. In 2021, "Let the Music Play" was given a modern update and released by Indian music composer duo Sachin–Jigar for the Indian Hindi-language comedy horror Roohi, making it to Number 2 on the UK Asian Music Charts.
