Siti Nurhaliza

Siti Nurhaliza binti Tarudin, who goes by the name Siti Nurhaliza, is a Malaysian pop singer from a musical family who began performing as a teenager. She won a talent contest and in 1996 released her self-titled debut album, which featured the hit single 'Jerat Percintaan' and she won several national music awards. Since then, known for her modest appearance, she has become a top star across Indonesia with many hit recordings, performances at major events, international tours and a long list of awards. She has released 17 albums and 70 music videos, almost all of them in the Malay language. 'Cindai' (1997), 'Adiwama' (1998), 'Pancawarna' (1999), 'Sahmura' (2000), 'Sanggar Mustika' (2002) and 'Transkripsi' (2006) all topped the Malaysia albums chart. She has performed at the MTV Asia Awards, the Commonwealth Games ceremonies, and at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She is a successful businesswoman and noted philanthropist. She has appeared in musical theatre and collaborated with a great many international artists. Her songs can be heard on Malaysian movie soundtracks and she has released several concert albums and compilations. In 2011, she released a studio album in the English language titled 'All Your Love'. Another Malay release, 'SimetriSiti', came out in 2017 and in 2019 she commenced a series of performances called 'Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza on Tour' in Jakarta.
