Spector

Fronted by bespectacled former MTV presenter Frederick Macpherson (vocalist previously of Les Incompétents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man) who was initially joined by guitarist Christopher Burman, bassist Thomas Shickle, keyboardist Jed Cullen, and drummer Danny Blandy, UK garage-rockers Spector came hurtling onto the scene in 2011 and won over fans with their charming brand of invigorating, Strokes-esque, synth-brightened indie anthems. The London band took the UK by storm, reaching Number 12 on the UK Album Charts with their debut album, Enjoy It While It Lasts (2012), and casting a charismatic anti-hero in Fred Macpherson. They also began garnering a reputation for their energetic live shows. Christopher Burman quit the band the following year, and in 2015 Spector released their second album, Moth Boys, via Fiction Records, with Yoann Intonti joining as a touring drummer. An EP, Ex-Directory, arrived in March 2018, which was backed by an accompanying UK tour, with the band later surprising fans with a second EP, Spector Reloaded. A new non-album single, "I Won't Wait," emerged in June 2019 with Spector announcing that their first studio album in six years, Now or Whenever, was coming out in October 2021. However, due to vinyl manufacturing delays, the album – the band's third full-length effort – didn't materialize until January 2022.
