Starbreaker

The rock band Starbreaker were formed in New York in 2004 by vocalist Tony Harnell who at the time was the front man for the successful Scandinavian heavy metal band TNT. Two other TNT members joined Harnell in his new venture, drummer John Macaluso and guitarist Magnus Karlsson and Starbreaker released their self-titled debut album in 2005. After their debut, Harnell initially returned to his role in TNT but it was to be a short-lived reunion and he left the band in 2006 to concentrate on the Starbreaker project, temporarily relocating to Sweden to write a new album. The result was 'Love's Dying Wish', a collection of songs released in 2007 which had a much more aggressive feel than the first album. Starbreaker at this time was a pure studio band and never toured with any of the material and after the second album the band was effectively dissolved whilst Harnell pursued his ambitions for a solo career. After a ten year hiatus Harnell reformed the band and recorded the album 'Dysphoria' which was released in 2019.
