Superheaven

Superheaven is an American alternative rock band whose sound blends the raw emotion of 1990s grunge fused with the dreamy landscapes of shoegaze. Originally named Daylight, the group was formed in 2008 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, by Jake Clarke, Joe Kane, Taylor Madison, and John Bowes. Shortly after forming, the four-piece rapidly gained attention with a trio of EPs: Sinking (2009), Dispirit (2010), and The Difference in Good and Bad Dreams (2012). Their momentum peaked with the band's studio debut Jar in 2013, landing them on the Billboard 200 and catching the attention of specialized media. Following a legal dispute, Daylight renamed themselves Superheaven and, soon after, they inked a deal with SideOneDummy Records. Their sophomore effort, Ours Is Chrome, came out in 2015 and peaked at Number 12 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. As the tours wrapped up, the members ventured into new horizons: Madison and Clarke birthed Webbed Wing, Robbins ventured into DARK MTNS and Flight Habit, while Kane embraced a carpentry career. Despite stepping back from full-time music, Superheaven has reunited for sporadic gigs over the following years. In 2023, the band embarked on a tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of Jar. That year, "Youngest Daughters," one of the album's most celebrated tracks, entered the Top 50 Rock & Alternative Songs chart at Number 22.
