Tix

One of the leading exponents of Russ music, a bass-heavy subgenre of electronic music characterized by its fast tempo and explicit lyrics, Andreas Andresen Haukeland (April 12, 1993), better known as Tix, is a singer-songwriter and producer from Norway. Born and raised in the city of Bærum, Haukeland suffered bullying from an early age due to his Tourette syndrome, a condition that would later inspire his stage name. He made his official debut in 2014 with the single “Fraternity,” followed by the controversial track “Sjeiken 2015,” which went to Number 5 in Norway. Tix dropped his studio debut Dømt Og Berømt in 2016 to great commercial success, reaching Number 2 on the VG-lista. After co-producing Flo Rida’s “Game Time” (2017) and Ava Max’s “Sweet but Psycho” (2018), Tix scored his first non-Russ hit in 2018 with the Top 5 single “Shotgun.” More success ensued with the Number 1 singles “Jeg Vil Ikke Leve” (2019), “Kaller På Deg” (2020), and “Karantene” (2020). In 2021, Tix won the Melodi Grand Prix and earned the opportunity to represent Norway at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Fallen Angel.” Despite finishing in 18th place, the track peaked at Number 2 on the VG-lista and charted in Belgium, Finland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK. That year, Tix also landed two Number 1 hits in his native Norway with the singles “Ut Av Mørket” and “Engel, Ikke Dra.”
