Amigos

With a career spanning almost five decades of music, German pop duo Die Amigos slowly but surely became one of the most popular Schlager music acts in recent musical history. Formed by siblings Bernd and Karl-Heinz Ulrich, Rudi Lang, and Günther Zimmer in 1970, the group began playing their first live shows in neighboring towns and villages. After Lang's exit in 1980 and Zimmer's death in 1985, Die Amigos signed their first record deal with the Frankfurt-based label Bellaphon and issued their studio debut Liebe und Sehnsucht in 1989. Following several releases and numerous lineup changes, the band recruited singer Daniela Alfinito, Bernd Ulrich's daughter, in 2000 and finally struck gold with the album Ich steh’ wieder auf in 2004. From there on, the group went through a hot streak with titles like Der helle Wahnsinn (2007), Mein Himmel auf Erden (2011), Wie ein Feuerwerk (2016), and Tausend Träume (2020), all of which reached Number 1 in Germany and received gold certification. In 2021, their twenty-fifth album Freiheit achieved pole position in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
