Anuar Zain

Born on February 15, 1970 in Melaka, Malaysia, decorated singer Anuar Zain has poured his smooth and velvety voice into five albums to date, making a name for himself as one of the country's top-tier pop and R&B balladeers. A former flight attendant, the Malaysian artist cut his professional teeth in Malay duo Anuar & Ellina before releasing his successful 1998 debut LP, Anuar Zain I, which featured his first single, "Bila Resah". The following year, Zain was crowned Best Male Singer and Best New Male Singer at the Malaysian equivalent of the Grammys, Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM). 2002 saw the release of Anuar Zain II and a third album, Anuar Zain III, followed in 2007. Hot on the heels of that release, Zain picked up the Best Male Artist award at Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) in 2008. Fourth album Anuar Zain IV landed in 2011 and two years later Zain was honored again at AIM, this time scooping the Best Vocal Duo Performance/Best Song Collaboration gong and Best Song Arrangement for his live duet album with fellow Malaysian singer Dayang Nurfaizah. In 2011, Zain sung "Sedetik Lebih" for Malaysian director Edry Abdul Halim (Kru)'s movie, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa. Zain released Anuar Zain V in 2016.
