Avatarium

Swedish doom metal overlords Avatarium were formed in Stockholm in 2013 by Candlemass songwriter Leif Edling with Marcus Jideel (guitar), Lars Sköld (drums), Carl Westholm (keyboards), and Jennie-Ann Smith (vocalist). They released their first EP, Moonhorse, in 2013, followed by their self-titled debut LP later that November through Nuclear Blast. The All I Want EP was issued in 2014 and, following a world tour, the group's sophomore album, 2015's The Girl with the Raven Mask, emerged. At the end of 2016, Avatarium went into the studio to record their third album Hurricanes and Halos with new bassist Mats Rydström and organist Rickard Nilsson. The LP came out in 2017, also via Nuclear Blast, with the follow-up, The Fire I Long For, arriving in November 2019. In April 2022, the band signed to AFM Records and released their fifth album, Death Where Is Your Sting, in October that year.
