Burning Witches

Burning Witches is a Swiss heavy metal and power metal band that was formed in Brugg, Aargau, Switzerland in 2015, consisting entirely of female members, with the original line up including Seraina Telli on vocals, Romana Kalkuhl and Alea Wyss on guitars, Jeanine Grob on bass, and Lala Frischknecht on drums. In 2017, Burning Witches gained recognition with the release of their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim, showcasing their powerful sound which blended traditional heavy metal and power metal elements. The following year, the band’s popularity continued to grow with their second album, Hexenhammer, gaining prominence through their energetic live performances and regular appearances at various rock festivals. In 2020, Burning Witches released their third studio album, Dance with the Devil,which achieved notable success, reaching number 14 on the Swiss charts and climbing to number 22 on the German charts, marking a significant milestone for the band. Continuing their upward trajectory, Burning Witches released their fourth studio album, The Witch of the North, in 2021. This album proved to be their most successful yet, reaching number 6 on the Swiss charts and achieving a top placement at number 16 in Germany. In 2023, Burning Witches released The Dark Tower, which demonstrated their evolution as a band. The album reached number 3 in Switzerland and climbed to number 20 on the German charts, earning them a reputation as one of the most prominent bands in the Swiss metal scene.
