Chakuza

Chakuza is the stage name of rapper and producer Peter Pangeri, born on February 22, 1981, in Linz, Austria. He began his musical journey in the early aughts alongside DJ Stickle and MC J in the hip-hop collective Verbale Systematik, which was revamped into the production team Beatlefield following J's departure in 2002. After signing with Bushido's label ersguterjunge, Chakuza made his official debut in 2006 with the mixtape Suchen & Zerstören, followed by the Bizzy Montana joint mixtape Blackout later that year. Driven by the Bushido collaboration "Eure Kinder," his studio debut City Cobra appeared in 2007 and reached Number 41 in Austria, also peaking at Number 10 on the German charts. Chakuza would go on to drop three more releases for ersguterjunge—the albums Unter der Sonne (2008) and Monster in Mir (2010), and the mixtape Suchen & Zerstören II (2010)—before moving to Four Music and delivering his fourth full-length Magnolia (2013), a more mature-sounding effort that cracked the Top 10 in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Over the next few years, Chakuza remained as prolific as ever, releasing the Top 10 entries EXIT (2014), NOAH (2016), and Aurora MC (2019), as well as the mixtapes Blackout 2 (2017) and Suchen & Zerstören 3 (2018). He maintained this steady work pace in the following years on albums such as Heavy Rain (2020), Luna (2020), City Cobra 2.0 (2020), Unter der Sonne / Monster in Mir 2.0 (2021), Fenster zur Welt (2022). In 2023, he issued his fourteenth studio full-length Liebe & KI (2023), which hit Number 91 in Germany.
